General qualifications for a salesperson license:

• Be at least 18 years of age

• Show evidence of being fingerprinted through the approved statewide vendor for a Texas and federal background check

• Provide a Completion Certificate for a 48-hour pre-exam salesperson course from an accredited Texas real estate school

• Pass both portions of the Texas salesperson state examination

• Complete the 24-hour Texas Real Estate Practice Course (TREP) prior to submitting an application for a license. (TREP course can be taken before or after exam date but must be taken after successful completion of the 48-hour pre-exam salesperson course)

• Submit appropriate application materials to the Texas Real Estate Commission with all required fees

• Completed application for license must be submitted within six months of the completion date of the 48-hour pre-exam salesperson course
